We build formedicine.Not paperwork.
Bekur brings AI-powered clinical documentation to Ethiopian healthcare, so every clinician can spend their day with patients instead of forms.
Why we built Bekur
Doctors spend close to half their working day on the medical record and desk work. In a country with one of the lowest doctor-to-patient ratios in the world, every minute on paperwork is a minute taken from patient care. (Sinsky et al., Annals of Internal Medicine, 2016)
Existing tools are built for Western healthcare systems. They don't understand Amharic, they ignore local clinical workflows, and they cost far more than Ethiopian clinics can afford.
Bekur was founded to change that. Our AI scribe listens in Amharic and English, understands Ethiopian clinical contexts, and generates structured SOAP notes automatically. We build for the healthcare system our founders grew up in, because they've seen firsthand what happens when technology ignores local realities.
What drives us
Clinicians first, always
Every product decision starts with one question: does this make the doctor's day better?
Built for Ethiopia
We don't import solutions from elsewhere. We build for Amharic, for Ethiopian workflows, for the realities of our healthcare system.
Privacy is non-negotiable
Patient data belongs to patients. Privacy and security shape how we build, from the first line of code.
Access over profit
We price for Ethiopian clinics, not Silicon Valley margins. Impact scales when pricing doesn't gatekeep.
Continuous learning
Amharic medical language evolves, clinics change, and so do we. We keep improving the product as we learn from how clinicians use it.
